Identity

Can you change your identity at a subconscious level?

Have you ever felt like your identity doesn’t quite match the person you know deep down? Have you questioned where your core beliefs truly stem from—whether they’re genuinely yours or a reflection of what others have imprinted upon you? I’ve grappled with this too. As a child, I was often labeled as “shy.” “Oh, she’s such a shy little girl,” they’d say. And as I journeyed into adulthood, I carried that label with me, believing I was inherently timid and needed time to warm up. But, what if this belief isn’t truly mine? What if it’s a role I’ve played for so long because it’s what everyone else expected of me? And maybe you’ve pondered similar questions about your own identity.

Diving into the Subconscious

This led me down a path of exploration into the workings of the subconscious mind. I’ve been immersing myself in research suggesting that our beliefs, including those about our own identities, often originate from this hidden realm. The distinction between the conscious and subconscious mind became an intriguing concept to unravel.

Subconscious vs conscious

What the difference between the subconscious mind and conscious mind? In simpler terms, the conscious mind is the tip of the iceberg—it’s what we’re actively aware of. It’s where decisions are made and thoughts are analysed. The subconscious, on the other hand, is the vast expanse beneath the surface. It houses our automatic functions, stores our beliefs and memories, and subtly shapes our perceptions of ourselves and the world.

The Theory of Subconscious Identity Change

Recent research suggests that we can rewire this subconscious layer to transform our identities. Studies indicate that by accessing and altering the subconscious, profound changes can occur in our behaviours, beliefs, and even our perception of self. There are many books that talk about this and one being “The Power of Your Subconscious Mind.” by Joseph Murphy. His book delves into the potential to reprogram the subconscious, emphasising the influence it has on shaping our reality and identities.

Testing the Theory

In upcoming blog posts, I’ll delve deeper into The Power of Your Subconscious Mind, experimenting with its principles to assess the potential for transforming one’s identity at a subconscious level. I want to be able to see if in fact you can change your identity at a subconscious level, can I find out who I am suppose to be at a subconscious level? Can I find my purpose? Can I find happiness at a much deeper level?

Let me know your thoughts? Share your own experiences, doubts, and reflections on identity and the subconscious. Have you tried rewiring your subconscious mind?

Stay tuned for updates on my experiments with Murphy’s theories and join me on this transformative journey!
